Princeton Volunteer Fireman Involved in Accident Responding to Emergency Call

A Princeton Fire Department volunteer fireman was involved in a two-vehicle accident while responding to an emergency call Tuesday night.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King says that officers responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury, collision on Sandlick Road just after eight. He adds that investigation revealed 21-year-old Austin G. Cooper was westbound on Sandlick Road in a 2014 GMC pickup with lights and siren activated when a 2014 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 30-year-old Patrick B. Baker of Marion, backed out of a driveway into Cooper’s path.
Chief King states that Cooper was unable to avoid the collision, hitting Baker’s vehicle, before leaving the right side of the roadway. Both vehicles then came to a rest in the roadway.
Chief King reports that Cooper was responding to a one-vehicle accident in the 300 block of Dawson Road that resulted in the arrest of 26-year-old Emmanuel D. Hicks, who had a warrant for robbery, assault, and theft from Montgomery County Maryland.
As the News Edge previously reported, Hicks was taken into custody following the accident and charged with fugitive from another state. He was then lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
