Two Juveniles and an 18-year-old Facing Various Charges in Lyon County

Two juveniles and an 18-year-old are facing various charges, including theft and drug charges, following an investigation into a stolen vehicle and several hit-and-run incidents.
Lyon County Sheriff Brent White reports that on Tuesday morning around 11 his office received a stolen vehicle complaint from a resident in northern Lyon County in which the victim reported a 2018 Jeep Compass had been stolen from the residence of a family member. He adds that neighboring law enforcement were then notified of the stolen vehicle and at around one Tuesday afternoon the Princeton Police Department located the stolen vehicle and detained a 17-year-old juvenile who was also in possession of the vehicle’s key FOB.
Sheriff White notes that the resulting investigation revealed a spare key FOB had been stolen from the victim on or about December 26th. The vehicle was allegedly stolen later that night and driven to McCracken County where it was involved in a hit-and-run collision before being driven back to Lyon County.
Sheriff White adds that the vehicle was again stolen on December 30th and driven to Southern Lyon County where it was reportedly involved in another hit-and-run collision before being recovered in Caldwell County.
A search of the vehicle revealed suspected marijuana, marijuana liquid, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, legend drugs, and Oxycodone. Sheriff White reports that the vehicle sustained over $2,900 worth of damage resulting from both hit-and-run collisions.
The 17-year-old male juvenile was then taken into custody and charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more, two counts of theft by unlawful taking under $500, and two counts of contempt of court. He was then lodged in the McCracken County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
A second juvenile, a 16-year-old female, was also taken into custody following investigation and was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a legend drug, and first degree possession of a controlled substance. Additional charges against her are pending in McCracken County concerning the first hit-and-run collision. She was then released into the custody of her mother, pending a juvenile court date.
Another teen, 18-year-old Conner B. Richie of Kuttawa, is also facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident – failure to render aid or assistance and first degree criminal mischief, among other lesser vehicle related offenses, in connection to the incidents. Richie is currently facing an arraignment in Lyon District Court on Wednesday.
Sheriff White indicates that the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information surrounding the incidents are being asked to contact the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office at 270-388-2311.
