Flash Flood Watch Issued For Portion Of Western Kentucky


The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Flash Flood Watch for a portion of western Kentucky from 6:00 Friday night through Saturday afternoon. The Flash Flood Watch includes Caldwell and Trigg and counties westward. Christian, Todd, and Logan counties are not included in the watch area at this time.
According to meteorologists, periods of heavy rain are expected to move in Friday night into Saturday with the heaviest rains expected between 6:00 Friday night and 3:00 Saturday afternoon. Storm total rainfall by late Saturday afternoon will likely average from 3 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts possible.
Rapid rises in creeks and streams are expected, and low water crossings may become impassable. Look for flood-prone areas to become inundated.
Remember, do not drive through floodwaters…Turn Around…Don’t Drown.
