Pennyrile Electric Crews Make Progress Restoring Power

Pennyrile Electric has made significant progress Saturday afternoon in restoring power after 13,000 customers were affected after a severe storm moved across the region.
Pennyrile Electric spokesman Brent Gilkey says they have made significate progress throughout the day getting power restored and crews are continuing to work on the remaining outages.

He adds they also have about a dozen utility poles that were snapped and will have to be replaced.

The first severe storm and tornado warnings were issued before 6:00 this morning in Marshall and Lyon Counties and prompted more severe storm and tornado warnings for Caldwell, Christian, Trigg, and Hopkins counties. The warnings continued through around 8:00.
