Public Invited to Attend First Fiscal Court Meeting of the Year

County officials are inviting all in the public to become more involved in their local governments by attending the first Caldwell County Fiscal Court meeting of the year.
Judge/Executive Larry Curling says that Tuesday’s meeting will be a great introduction to the inter-workings of county government and all the monthly decisions made by those that were elected by community members. He adds that the agenda will include the approval of the 2020 Caldwell County Clerk estimated budget and deputies maximum, the approval of the sheriff’s annual order of setting maximum salaries, and the approval of the Caldwell County Fiscal Court employees.
Curling notes that the agenda will also include several items that are approved each meeting, including the presentation of the monthly financial statement, authorization to approve any treasurer’s transfers, and the authorization to pay the bills. Attendees will also hear reports from county department heads, like the sheriff’s office and the local jail.
Each magistrate will also give a report for their district so attendees can learn what’s happening in and around the county.
The meeting will be held Tuesday morning beginning at nine in the fiscal courtroom on the main floor of the Caldwell County Courthouse in downtown Princeton and is open to all in the public. For more information you can contact Judge/Executive Larry Curling’s office at 270-365-6660.
