Code Red: Free Weather and Emergency Alert System

Local emergency management officials are reminding residents of a weather and emergency alert system that’s offered free of charge following a bout of unexpected severe weather.
Caldwell County Emergency Management Coordinator Joey McCaslin says that while Princeton and Fredonia do have storm sirens, they are only blown when the path of the storm includes either town. He adds that the best way to be notified about severe weather within Princeton, Fredonia, and the county is through the emergency alert system, Code Red, that sends weather, or other emergency alerts, to those who have signed up.

McCaslin states that the service worked well over the weekend, especially for those within the county, and is encouraging all residents to sign up.

He notes that signing up for the service does require a bit of personal information.
