Resolution Affirming Second Amendment Rights Approved

A resolution affirming Caldwell County’s commitment to supporting the rights granted by the second amendment of the United States Constitution has been approved following action taken by the Fiscal Court.
At a meeting Tuesday morning Judge/Executive Larry Curling read a proposed resolution concerning elected officials’ duty to uphold the Constitution, most notably the second amendment, the right to bear arms.

Following a motion and a roll call vote the resolution was unanimously approved.
The resolution comes after several community members gathered to form Caldwell County 2A United, who’s mission is to join together with likeminded individuals who want to assure that all second amendment rights are protected under law. The group brought the resolution to county officials following a public meeting earlier in the month.
