Heating and Fire Safety Tips As Winter Temps Return

While this winter hasn’t been too harsh, colder temperatures are returning to the area prompting local fire officials to remind residents to be cautious when it comes to alternative heat sources.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that as temps continue to drop residents need to make sure their homes are protected against all potential winter fire hazards.

He suggests several tips to properly use portable space heaters that will keep them from becoming fire hazards.

Chief Francis also warns against using an electric or gas oven to heat your home.

He notes that owners of ventless gas logs should test for possible carbon monoxide emissions before using them.
