One Person Injured in Single Vehicle Accident in Fredonia

One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident that shut down a portion of US 641 outside of Fredonia Friday morning.
Princeton Fire Chief Brent Francis says that crews were dispatched to reports of a vehicle hitting a utility pole near the sharp curve on US 641 just before ten. He adds that when crews arrived on scene employees from Kenergy were already working to cut power to a downed electrical line. While the line is powered by Kentucky Utilities, crews from Kenergy happened upon the accident and received permission to cut power to the line.
Chief Francis notes that the driver of the vehicle, whose name has not been released by authorities, was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
He reports that both lanes of US 641 were shut down in the area for about 30 to 45 minutes while crews worked to clear the site of all electrical lines.
The Princeton Fire Department were assisted at the scene by the Fredonia Fire Department, Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Caldwell County EMS, and Kenergy.
No other information has been released at this time.
