Six Caldwell Students Perform at WKU Honors Band Clinic

Several Caldwell County High School students participated in the Western Kentucky University Honors Band Clinic in Bowling Green this past weekend.

School officials say six students, Gina Hardrick, Kyra Dearing, Kelly James, Mandi Wallace, Baylee Morse and Wyatt Dyer, as well as Band Director Daniel Thomas, attended the clinic, which was held Thursday through Saturday on the university’s campus.

According to WKU’s website participating high school students auditioned for placement in one of four bands upon arrival on Thursday and then rehearsed Thursday evening and throughout the day on both Friday and Saturday. Students then performed in the 25th Annual Prism Concert Friday night and an additional concert on Saturday.

Students from throughout the entire state sat under the direction of retired and current band directors from Georgia, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
