Princeton Man Arrested Following Vehicle Theft

Investigation into a vehicle theft has lead to the arrest of a Princeton man.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King states that officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle theft at the Dollar General Store on North Harrison Street around 3:15 Friday afternoon. He adds that the victim, Mark VanHooser, told officers that after leaving the store he realized that his 2009 Chevrolet pickup truck was missing. VanHooser also told officers that a white male in a grey hoody had allegedly asked him about the truck when he was inside the store.
Chief King reports that the next day officers received information indicating that the truck was behind a residence in the 300 block of North Jefferson Street. Officers then located the truck behind the residence and made contact with 37-year-old Joshua I. Fowler, of Princeton. Fowler agreed to be questioned at the police department where he was identified by the victim.
Fowler was then arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking $10,000 or more.
Chief King notes that Fowler was taken to Caldwell Medical Center ER for jail medical clearance and allegedly attempted to escape the hospital by fleeing on foot. Fowler was then apprehended in the waiting room. He was subsequently charged with second degree escape and resisting arrest and was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
