Football Program Proposes Changes to Helmet Reconditioning Plan

The Caldwell County High School Football Program has proposed changes to their helmet reconditioning plan.
At a meeting Tuesday night Head Coach Will Barnes addressed Board of Education members stating that helmet reconditioning is required every two years in order to comply to safety standards.

He added that at the high school they send helmets off every year but he noticed that was not the case in the middle school program.

Barnes then proposed that the board take over reconditioning costs in order to allow the athletic departments at each school to save the funds to purchase new equipment, including helmets.

Superintendent Nate Huggins stressed that Barnes’ reconditioning plan was just an informational proposal and no action would be required at this time.
