The superload resumed traveling through Trigg County and into Tennessee Monday.
The superload left Seven Springs Farms near Wallonia around 9:00 Monday morning and traveled along Kentucky 276/Rocky Ridge Road where it was involved in a minor accident when an escort vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the crew had to stop for over an hour while the wreck was investigated.
The oversized load resumed travel on Rocky Ridge Road shortly before noon and turned west on U.S. 68. The tractor-trailer then turned onto KY 139/South Road to travel into Tennessee.
The superload has been parked at Seven Springs Farms since Friday, February 14, after stopping for repairs and maintenance. Crews were scheduled to resume travel last week but were delayed awaiting permits from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to move through Tennessee.

The over-sized load is traveling from Cincinnati, Ohio on its way to Aberdeen, Mississippi. A dozen support vehicles are escorting the 195-foot long truck with a 19-axle trailer that is hauling an oversized chemical storage tank. Due to the height of the load, Todd says the truck has to move along mostly rural routes to avoid highway and interstate overpasses.
Todd says motorists who encounter the load on the road should use appropriate caution and follow directions of the escort crew and police.
