Caldwell Schools Increasing Safety Precautions Concerning Flu and COVID-19

Caldwell County school officials are assuring parents and guardians that they are taking all the necessary precautions to help keep students healthy as flu season rages on and concerns for the coronavirus (COVID-19) rise.
Superintendent Nate Huggins states that administrators, staff, and teachers have put a plan of action into effect to increase their typical cleaning protocols.

He adds that keeping students healthy from the spread of the flu, while also preparing for any potential COVID-19 cases within the school system, is their top priority.

Huggins is also encouraging all students to display proper hand hygiene.

He notes that because the area is still in the peak flu season students, staff, and parents are also being asked to avoid close contact with people who are sick, avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or the crook of your elbow, stay home when you are sick, and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
The Enhanced Facility Cleaning and Maintenance Protocol recently established includes disinfecting all regularly used surfaces such as desks, doorknobs, water fountains, phones, computers, and seats, after class and, in some cases, after being used by each individual student.
