WPKY is marking 70 years of serving the community and we’re asking you, our listeners, to help us celebrate!
Edge Media Group Programming Director Bill Booth says that WPKY will have special guests during Coffee Talk Friday morning at eight, including Twyman Boren and “Wake Up with Wille” host Willie Wilson. He adds that the show will also include audio from the station’s 35th anniversary in 1985.
Booth notes that festivities will continue throughout noon as the public is being invited to stop by, share their favorite memories of WPKY, and grab a slice of yummy birthday cake.
WPKY will also be donating a basket full of goodies from local businesses that have been in business since 1950, or even before, to the Princeton Optimist Club that will be auctioned off Friday during the final night of the annual radio auction. More details about all the wonderful things included in the basket will be released closer the auction Friday night.
