Com-Care Inc., the medical emergency company that facilitates Caldwell and Crittenden County’s EMS services, are assuring the public that their staff are adequately prepared to handle any potential coronavirus (COVID-19) cases within the area.
Company President Jim Duke states that Com-Care EMS is monitoring the constantly evolving COVID-19 situation and are working in conjunction with local Hospital Preparedness Partnerships, local and state public health departments, the national CDC, and local hospitals to coordinate their efforts in keeping the public safe. He adds that all Com-Care EMS staff are receiving specific training in the proper response, treatment, and transportation of potential and actual COVID-19 patients.
Duke notes that all ambulances will be cleaned and disinfected after each and every transport in accordance to CDC recommendations and all staff will be continuously monitored to ensure that they do not transmit a possible infection to other patients.
He states that in an effort to safeguard their staff and the patients they come into contact with staff will be practicing isolation measures and wearing personal protective equipment in situations that the public might not normally expect to see them doing so.
