Thursday Afternoon Could Feature Severe Weather

All eyes continue to focus on the latest weather conditions for this afternoon.
During a Paducah National Weather Service conference call Thursday morning, Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin says western Kentucky is under an enhanced (3/5) risk of storms this afternoon. He adds there is a small possibility the risk increases to moderate (4/5).

Shanklin notes storms are currently firing up near the Mississippi River, but the first of two lines of storms is expected to occur after 2:00.

He adds this system is looking to be a pretty dynamic storm.

Shanklin notes the risk category is one step higher than the evening storms that occurred on March 2nd that produced an EF-1 near Crofton.
