Area Senior Citizen Centers Closed Through March 27

The Pennyrile Area Development District has announced the temporary closure of all nine senior citizen centers effective Monday.
PADD reports the closure will last until Friday, March 27, which was the recommendation from Governor Andy Beshear to help stop the spread of the coronavirus. After the two weeks are over, officials will reevaluate the closures.
They add in-home services will continue to be provided, as well as transportation services. An alternate plan will be implemented for providing meals, with PADD asking seniors to call the center for further information and to make reservations for “drive-thru” meals, beginning Monday.
PADD serves Trigg, Christian, Caldwell, Lyon, Todd, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston, and Muhlenberg counties.
