Caldwell Officials Implementing Safety Procedures Amid COVID-19 Concerns

Officials from the city, county, emergency management, health department and various other authorities gathered to have an open table discussion surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19) health concerns Friday.
Caldwell Medical Center Chief Nursing Officer, Douglas James, stated that the Medical Center has been following the situation for the last several weeks.

He expressed that because COVID-19 is such a new disease, and there are still a lot of unknowns, officials are preferring to err on the side of caution.

James noted that the abundance of caution is mainly due to a higher mortality rate in certain patient populations.

He also explained some important information concerning COVID-19 testing.

All city and county run agencies as well as first responders and utilities companies within the area are working diligently to implement or ramp up their safety and cleanliness protocols and are assuring the public that no matter what happens things will be handled in a safe, smooth, and effective manner that will insure the safety and well-being of all within the community.
