UPDATE: Morgan’s Funeral Home Introduces “Hugs from Home”

Following newly announced state guidelines amid concerns over the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) a local funeral home is changing how services will be handled.
Brian and Jenna Wainer, owners of Morgan’s and Lakeland Funeral Homes, announced on social media that while they recognize the importance of allowing families the opportunity to grieve and receive support from friends, it is also imperative that they follow state recommendations to keep the public safe. They added that visitations and services will now be considered private with no times and dates published, which will allow for immediate family and close friends the ability to participate while following CDC guidelines restricting gatherings.
The statement also indicated that they will now be offering a complimentary public memorial service in addition to each families’ private service and can also provide a link for friends and family to watch the service from their website and social media with family approval.

The Wainer’s also noted that they are now implementing a brand new complimentary service called “Hugs from Home” that will give those not attending the chance to share a token of love and support. Community members can call the funeral home office or go to their website homepage and a leave a message of support that will be handwritten and attached to a white balloon. These balloons will then fill the chapel as hugs for the family.

The Wainer’s are assuring the public that they are practicing all necessary safety measures available to protect families, staff, and the community as they continue to serve the public throughout this time. Funeral services can still be made remotely or over the phone.
