Governor Reports 3rd COVID-19 Related Death In Kentucky


Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear announced Saturday the third coronavirus (COVID-19) related death in the state as the number of confirmed cases climbed to 87.
During Saturday afternoon’s COVID-19 update, he said the death was a 67-year old man from Anderson County.

The Governor added that every night he has to report a fatality they will  light the Governor’s Mansion green.

As of 5:00 p.m. Saturday, he said there are 87 positive COVID-19 cases reported. The additional cases are in the counties of Jefferson, Fayette, Warren, Spencer, Breathitt, Madison, Harrison, Menifee, Kenton, and the Green River Area which includes several counties.
Governor Beshear also shared some good news — the two children diagnosed with the coronavirus are doing well.

In addition, he says some more good news includes the U.S. Small Business Administration has approved disaster loan funds for small businesses in Kentucky.

Kentucky Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Steven Stack reiterated the coronavirus is a serious infection and is very contagious, spreading from one person to another. He says people need to physically stay apart from each other to keep the virus from spreading like wildfire.
