The Caldwell County School System is still working to provide meals to students during the extended closure but are notifying parents of a few changes.
Director of Food Services Will Brown states that if you have not signed your child up for meals but would like to, or if you need to make any changes in your current order, please call the Caldwell County Board Office at 270-365-8000. He adds that you will need to provide your name, school each child attends, a contact number, and the number of your desired pickup location or your address. This one order will stand for the remainder of the closure, however if a child does not pick up a meal three days in a row they will be removed from the list and will have to sign up again.
Brown notes that orders will now only be taken between 8AM and noon with all orders taken after 9AM not served until the following day. He is also reminding parents that meals will only be given to students, no adult can pick up a meal without a student present.
Brown is encouraging all students to please be at the pickup locations before the scheduled drop-off time, which helps prevent them being late at other sites. For those home deliveries please be looking for the delivery vehicle and listen for a honk, meals will not be brought to the door.
