City Parks to be Monitored to Help Comply with Social Distancing Guidelines

Following more guidelines from Governor Andy Beshear local parks and playgrounds are changing a few things to help comply with social distancing recommendations.
Princeton Mayor Kota Young states that while all city parks are still open they will more closely monitor these areas to ensure that social distancing recommendations are being observed. He adds that city officials have made the decision to remove the basketball rims at both Dotson Park and City/County Park to keep the public from congregating in these areas.
Caldwell County Schools Superintendent Nate Huggins notes that school administration has also made the decision to close the basketball courts on Butler campus.
Mayor Young expresses that while this may seem like an inconvenience it is done in an effort to keep everyone in the community safe as confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) continue to grow within the state and nation.
He states that there are still many activities that community members can safely partake in at parks including taking advantage of the walking and biking paths at Princeton and Dotson Parks but reminds everyone to observe at least a six foot distance from each other.
Mayor Young notes that if social distancing recommendations cannot be observed the city is prepared to take additional measures to protect the health of this community. He states the better the job we do in responding to the challenges set before us the quicker we can return to our normal lives.
