After two weeks of successful school meal deliveries administration is alerting parents and students of a few changes.
Caldwell County School’s Director of Food Services, Will Brown, says that three designated pickup locations will start receiving meals at a different time beginning Monday, March 30th and include Grace Court Offices, which will now receive meals at 11:35AM, the lot beside O’Reilly Auto Parts, which will now receive meals at 11:38AM, and Sugar Creek Baptist Church, which will now receive meals at 11:30AM. He is also reminding those who receive meals delivered to their homes to please be on the lookout for the delivery vehicle and listen for a honk, meals will not be brought to the door and if you do not come to pick up the meal in a reasonable time they will depart and move to the next location.
Brown notes that they have had a bit of a procedure change and are now allowing parents to pickup meals without the child present, however they are asking for integrity and honesty as meals are only requested for those 18 and under. He states that a roster will be utilized at each site to help eliminate potential fraudulent behavior.
As a reminder, the district will continue to take food orders between 8AM and noon daily, however, all meal orders received after 9AM will not be delivered until the next day. All orders placed will be held for the duration of the extended closure. To place an order you can contact the Caldwell County Board Office at 270-365-8000.
