The fourth COVID-19 has been confirmed in Lyon County.
Judge-Executive Wade White announced on social media Friday night the Pennyrile District Health Department confirmed the case. He said the new case involves a 55-year old male in Lyon County who is hospitalized and he believes the man is getting better. He added the health department is conducting the contact investigation.
On Thursday night, Judge White reported a 76-year old male was the third case and was self-isolated at home and receiving care for symptoms from his primary physician.
The second positive coronavirus case was confirmed Tuesday night, when Judge White said a 97-year old female, who was a resident at River’s Bend Nursing Home had tested positive for the coronavirus and had been hospitalized out-of-state on March 29 out-of-state.
Judge White also announced Friday night that COVID-19 tests are being conducted of residents and staff at the River’s Bend Nursing Home.
The first case in Lyon County was reported last month and involved a 69-year old male. The Pennyrile District Health Department reported he recovered from the virus and was released from quarantine on March 21.
Judge White reminds everyone to continue social distancing, staying 6 feet apart and one person per vehicle in stores.
