County Officials Still Urging Social Distancing

County elected officials are continuing to urge community members to continue to observe social distancing guidelines and stay healthy at home to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Caldwell County Judge/Executive Larry Curling says that the county is in preventive mode but that doesn’t mean residents can go lax on the guidelines set by state leadership and medical officials.

He adds when you must leave your home to please exercise all guidelines, like keeping six feet between yourself and others, especially when going to essential retail businesses that are still operating.

Judge Curling is also reminding residents of the executive order he issued Monday that mandates only one adult shopper per family unless someone is a single parent who must bring their children, in which case children must be kept within immediate distance of their parent. He indicates that there are several ways to keep healthy and safe while shopping for essential items.

Judge Curling stresses that while the situation seems out of our control how we react and what we do is completely within our control.

With Easter this Sunday Judge Curling is asking local churches to refrain from gathering for parking lot services.
