National Guard To Aid In Kentucky Efforts Against COVID-19

Governor Andy Beshear says members of the Kentucky National Guard will be in every area of the state beginning Sunday to help in the efforts of fighting COVID-19.
Beshear made the announcement Saturday stating they will be ready to transport coronavirus patients.

Governor Beshear confirmed seven new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed at Western State Hospital in Hopkinsville, with two patients and five staff members testing positive.
As of Saturday afternoon, there were 185 new cases bringing the statewide total to 1,840 confirmed cases. Eight of the new cases were confirmed in Christian County, four in Caldwell and Hopkins, three in Calloway, and one each in Lyon, Marshall, and Todd counties.
Beshear adds four new deaths were reported making the state total 94.
In talking about the tested and death rate being reported, Governor Beshear says the numbers among the African-American population is disproportionate.

He hopes one of the many lessons learned when the pandemic is over is that everybody should have access to good affordable healthcare and making sure they can be as healthy as they can be.
