Officials are asking for the public’s help to stop widespread vandalism that is occurring throughout Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
Public Affairs Officer Chris Joyner says in a social media post this time of the year is when they see the most amount of vandalism at LBL by those illegally traveling off-road and cutting donuts in open fields. He adds what the public may not be aware of is the money for hunting license goes to these managing these open areas, meaning the money they would be spending on crops will be spent on repairing the damages.
Joyner said 99 percent of the people who visit LBL is responsible and asked them to report any vandalism.

He added that vandalism is a crime and it needs to stop.

When visiting the recreation area, Joyner said we all need to do our part to respect the resource and leave no trace. That means to stay on the roads that are open and limit your travel to those roads and not venture into the open spaces.
