Caldwell County Board of Education Meeting to be Aired Live at WPKY May 18

With social distancing mandates still in effect to help slow the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) many governmental and organizational meetings that are normally open to the public have been moved to virtual platforms where the public can attend from the safety and comfort of their own home.
In this vein the Caldwell County Board of Education is making their regular session meetings available to the public via WPKY’s airwaves. School Superintendent Nate Huggins says the meeting will be aired live Monday, May 18th beginning at 7PM at 103.3FM/1580AM, online at wpkyonline.com, and on the WPKY app.
He adds several important orders of business concerning next school year are on the agenda including the tentative budgets for fiscal year 2021, the 2020-2021 salary schedule, the awarding of high school athletic bids, approval of new venders and suppliers, the approval of the Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) plan for the 2020-2021 school year, and more.
Superintendent Huggins notes that following all business the public will have a chance to give comments or ask questions. As social distancing will not allow for the public to be at the meeting in person all public comments and questions will be taken over the phone. Superintendent Huggins is asking that anyone who would like to make a comment or ask a question to send him an email at nate.huggins@caldwell.kyschools.us with their name and question or comment by Monday at 5PM. They will then be added to a list and can air their comment or question live during the meeting by calling 270-365-8002 when prompted by the board.
If you can not tune in and listen to the meeting Monday, May 18th at 7PM, it will be available immediately following on our website here.
For more information about the meeting you can contact the Caldwell County Board of Education at 270-365-8000.
