Kentucky Surpasses 10,000 COVID-19 Cases

Governor Andy Beshear’s office released the latest COVID-19 numbers Monday afternoon but did not hold a news conference which has become a regular occurrence through the pandemic.
The governor held a news conference Monday morning and plans to hold another Monday afternoon to discuss the turmoil in Louisville revolving around March 13 death of Breonna Taylor and David McAtee, who was killed early Monday morning.
Dr. Steven Stack, Commissioner for Public Health confirmed 131 new positive cases of COVID-19 Sunday and 214 Monday. The new statewide case total now sits at 10,046. Stack adds there were eight new deaths reported Monday, including an 88-year old Logan County male, inching the death toll to 439.
Stack says the state is continuing efforts to expand testing and ramp-up contact tracing.
During the Monday morning news conference, Governor Beshear asked for anyone who may be participating in protests to follow all current health guidelines.
