Resiliency Outreach, Helping Veterans and First Responders Through Outdoor Activities

A western Kentucky non-profit is aiming to reinvigorate purpose and relevance in the lives of veterans and first responders across the entire state, and even throughout the entire nation.
Patrick Russell, one of the founders of Resiliency Outreach, Inc., says he and a group of friends created the non-profit after he experienced a tough time transitioning back to civilian life.

He adds the organization hosts several fundraising events throughout the year that helps veterans and first responders have fun and fellowship while also raising money for a good cause. Recently, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they participated in a virtual fishing tournament.

Over the weekend Russell states they hosted their 3rd Annual Hero Shoot at Lake Barkley and were able to benefit the family of a police officer in Arkansas who was recently killed in the line of duty.

He notes all winnings were donated to the family and expresses his hope to continue to use these tournaments as ways to help families in need.
