Paving Starts Back in Princeton Thursday

After a few days break, paving will resume in Princeton Thursday as work to finish the massive paving project continues.
Mayor Kota Young says crews will begin working on a number of well-traveled streets early Thursday morning and motorists should expect rolling street closures as crews work across the downtown district. He adds roads expected to be paved include West and East Washington, South Plum, South Donnivan, South Harrison, Edwards, North Franklin, North Hawthorne, and West Locust streets.
Mayor Young states crews will also be paving the gravel parking lot at the Trail of Tears Park and the parking lot at Big Springs Park. He notes traffic cones will be set out early to block parking spots on these streets and parking lots.
The massive paving project aims to pave 79 city streets before the end of summer and has been made possible due to lower material cost spurred by the coronavirus pandemic and an already considerable budget allocation.
