Princeton City Council Hears Explanation of Current Tiny House Ordinances

The Princeton City Council heard some clarification about current city ordinances concerning tiny houses during a meeting Monday night.
Code Enforcement Officer Dickie Thomas explained to the council the city doesn’t have specific size or style tiny home ordinances at this time.

He did mention, however, all potential tiny homes within city limits do have to pass the Kentucky Residential Code.

Thomas added a lot of tiny houses that are popping up across the state look like small cabins or portable buildings.

He does note those types of buildings and structures can be brought up to code but would require professional inspection.

Thomas stated the Planning and Zoning Commission is working on new tiny house ordinances that they are hoping will be brought to the council for approval soon.
