Governor Andy Beshear confirmed 700 new COVID-19 cases in the state Tuesday.

Eighteen of the newly reported cases were from children 5 and younger. These include a 2-month and a 6-month old in Jefferson County. Beshear adds a 1-year old in Metcalfe County tested positive after being exposed to the virus at church and recently traveling to Tennessee.
Beshear also confirmed 7 new deaths Tuesday, including a 53-year old male from Calloway County and a 95-year old female from Ohio County. The state’s death toll now sits at 751.
Beshear was asked about possibly opening bars and increasing restaurant capacity next week. He says it’s his hope to lift the restrictions soon.

The governor also highlighted increased testing, but at this time, no new sites have been announced for the western portion of the state.
