Remnants of Hurricane Laura to Impact Western Kentucky


The remnants Hurricane Laura will impact the region Friday and into the weekend.
Meteorologists from the National Weather Service in Paducah say they are closely monitoring the potential for heavy rainfall Friday into Friday night, with widespread amounts of 1 to 3 inches possible. Locally higher rainfall amounts are possible and flash flooding may become an issue.
They add another concern will be the potential for strong winds as the surface low moves across the area. The potential exists for wind gusts up to 35 MPH, particularly across the Pennyrile region.
There is a chance for some severe thunderstorms, with brief spin-up tornadoes and strong wind gusts remaining a possibility Friday night into Saturday. Your Weather Edge will keep you informed on all of the latest weather information.
