Funeral services for Cookye Tyler, age 76, of Cadiz will be held Sunday afternoon at two at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz.
Visitation will be held Sunday from noon until service time at the funeral home.
Cookye was a 1963 graduate of Caldwell County High School and afterwards obtained her Master’s degree in Nursing from Murray State University. She retired after 25 years as a RN, having been employed by Trigg County Hospital, Jennie Stuart Medical Center, and Caldwell Medical Center at different times during those years. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time reading, shopping, and being “Mawmaw” to her grandchildren. Cookye was also a member of Cadiz Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Jerry Ray Tyler of Cadiz; one son: Jerry Dale Tyler and wife, Midge, of Lebanon, TN; one daughter: Teressa “Puddy” Jones and husband, Wendell, of Princeton; three grandchildren: Wendy Ladd and husband, Taylor, Presley Tyler, and Halen Tyler; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN or the Cadiz Gideon Camp in Cadiz.
