Christ Tabernacle Food Pantry Mass Distribution and Produce Giveaway

The Christ Tabernacle Food Pantry is reminding the public that despite continued coronavirus related restrictions leading to an unstable economy food is still available for those in need.
Director Missie Gill states their next mass food distribution will be held Friday, September 18th from noon until 3PM at their location behind Christ Tabernacle Church on Highway 62 West in Princeton. She adds no sign-up is required to take advantage of the distribution event, Caldwell County residents merely have to show a valid driver’s license to Food Pantry volunteers.

She is also alerting the public of a free produce giveaway facilitated through Anthem on Friday, September 25th from 8 until 11AM at the Food Pantry. Produce will include onions, carrots, potatoes, a head of cabbage, and a watermelon and will be available first come, first serve. During this giveaway event, which is open to all in the public, no information will be required to receive food.
Gill notes the number of residents who have showed up for mass food distributions has significantly increased following business and school closures in mid-March to help slow the spread of the virus. She states the Food Pantry normally sees between 225 and 250 families at each event but they have consistently served over 300 each month since the pandemic hit.
