Health First to Offer Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing in Princeton September 24

Health First Community Health Center will soon offer an alternate means of COVID-19 testing by way of a traveling screening unit that will make a stop in Princeton next week.
Health First COVID Coordinator, Beth Devine, says the unit will enhance testing already being offered at Health First clinics located throughout western Kentucky, including the locations in Princeton and Providence. She adds by bringing this service directly to residents, it provides more access to testing and removes barriers such as transportation.
Devine states testing is performed free of charge and is open to all ages, however, parental consent is required for those under 18, and those interested in testing do not have to be a resident of a specific county to participate. Tests are available to those exhibiting symptoms or those who may be asymptomatic and no appointments are needed.
Devine explains the technique used is a mouth swab, which is less invasive than the nasal swab, and results are typically provided within 24-36 hours. She does note individuals who are tested and awaiting results should follow CDC guidelines and take steps to help prevent the virus from spreading, including self-quarantine until results are known.
Drive-thru screening will be held Thursday, September 24th from 9AM until 2PM at the Christ Tabernacle Church, which is located at 1839 US Highway 62 West in Princeton. Those wishing to receive a test must have their driver’s license and insurance card ready.
