Those Using Absentee Ballots Need to Carefully Follow Instructions

There are many ways to cast your ballot, including absentee, over the next month and officials want to make sure you follow all instructions to ensure your votes are cast.
During Governor Andy Beshear’s Thursday news conference, Kentucky Board of Elections Executive Director Jared Dearing said if you choose to get an absentee ballot you need to carefully read the directions when making your selections.

Dearing added when you finish you will place the ballot inside the two envelopes provided.

The inner envelope will also need to be signed so your vote can be counted.

Dearing said individuals who have already applied to get their absentee ballots should begin to receive them next week. You can apply to receive an absentee ballot at govoteky.com.
Dearing advised those who are casting their vote by absentee ballot to turn them back in as soon as possible and to not wait until Tuesday, November 3.

Governor Andy Beshear announced Thursday afternoon 628 new COVID-19 cases with 76 among children. Beshear also confirmed 11 new deaths.
The state’s positivity rate is 3.82%.
