Kentucky’s COVID-19 Positivity Rate Continues to Go Down

Governor Andy Beshear provided some good news Friday afternoon, as the positivity rate continues to decrease.
Governor Beshear said the state’s positivity rate is the lowest it has been in months, at 3.6%.
As of Friday afternoon, the governor confirmed 777 new COVID-19 cases raising the total cases to 60,128. Ninety-seven of the newly reported cases were from children ages 18 and younger, of which 14 were children ages 5 and under.
In addition, eight new deaths were confirmed Friday, including a 96-year-old man from Christian County and a 53-year-old man from Hopkins County. Both of the deaths have been announced by their respective health departments.
The state’s death toll is now 1,101.
