Kentucky, Christian County Tuesday COVID-19 Report

Governor Andy Beshear said Tuesday afternoon the state has begun surge protections.
As COVID-19 cases continue to climb, during what has been deemed the third escalation, Beshear added this is something that did not have to be done during the case increase over the summer.

He said if not everyone buys into preventing the spread of the virus, his concern is the state will experience a surge that must be avoided.

He added the state must double-down on all COVID-19 precautions to slow the spread of the virus.
During his COVID-19 case report Tuesday, Beshear shared there were 1,312 new cases and 16 new deaths across the Commonwealth.

Of that, 265 are considered active with the 16 new active cases either 59 or younger. In all, 1,481 recoveries have been reported and 28 deaths since the pandemic began.
