Another Hearing Set In Greenville Road Murder Case

A Hopkinsville woman charged in a fatal shooting on Greenville Road in June 2019 appeared for a pretrial conference in Christian County Circuit Court Wednesday morning.
Anshanique Leavell appeared by video from the Christian County Jail before Chief Circuit Judge John Atkins. Her defense attorney, Michael Thompson appeared virtually and said he and the Commonwealth’s Attorney are still working on a resolution.

Judge Atkins set another pretrial conference for 8:30 Wednesday morning, November 4th.
Leavell is accused of fatally shooting Armareya Freeman in the chest on the front porch of an apartment complex on Greenville Road shortly before midnight on June 6, 2019. Shortly after the shooting, police said Leavell was stopped by officers on Russellville Road at East 7th Street and found in possession of a stolen gun.
Leavell remains lodged in the Christian County Jail charged with murder and receiving stolen property (firearm).
