Princeton Man Previously Arrested Facing Additional Charges Following Search of Vehicle

A Princeton man arrested last week is facing additional charges following a search of his vehicle Monday.
Princeton Police Chief Chris King states information acquired after arresting 33-year-old Shane D. Jones on Friday led detectives to obtain a search warrant for the vehicle he was driving at the time of his arrest. He adds detectives executed the search warrant Monday and allegedly found several weapons and drugs in the vehicle.
Jones is subsequently charged with his second offense of first degree possession of methamphetamine – firearm enhanced, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia buying or possessing, carrying a concealed weapon by prior deadly weapon felony offender, and possession of marijuana – firearm enhanced.
As previously reported by the News Edge Princeton police received an anonymous compliant of a wanted person late Friday night. Officers were able to locate the described individual, later identified as Jones, and determined he was wanted on a Caldwell County bench warrant. A search of his vehicle then produced a handgun and he was taken into custody, charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, which is a Class C felony.
Jones remains lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
