John O’Hara Rice, 78, of Princeton

Private graveside services for John O’Hara Rice, age 78, of Princeton, will be held Saturday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
John proudly served his country in the Vietnam War, he loved history, the Constitution, and served as republican poll judge for many years. John had 3 college degrees: biology, math, and computer science. After spending several years as a research biologist, John went to work for the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, MD. He returned to Princeton in 2008. Retirement for him meant an active role in his community. He was a member of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church and was also involved in many area organizations that supported nature and his love for the earth. John loved the Lord, was a humble servant, and truly left this world a better place.
Survivors include one sister: Ann Kimmel of Princeton; one brother: Robert Orr Rice of St. Joseph, MI; several nieces and nephews, great nephews and nieces, two great-great nephews and one very special great nephew: Bob Weber of Princeton.
During this difficult time, friends and family may show their support by joining the “Hugs from Home” program where heartfelt messages will be attached to a balloon in the chapel to remind the family of their love and support. All hugs need to be received by five Friday evening and can be sent by visiting morgansfuneralhome.com.
