Princeton Nursing Home Reports COVID Outbreak

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been reported at a nursing home in Princeton after 23 residents and staff members tested positive for the virus.
Princeton Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Administrator Amanda Coleman released a statement over the weekend confirming that nineteen (19) residents and four (4) staff members tested positive during the weekly testing process at the long-term care facility. She said they received the confirmation Friday and all of the cases are in stable condition. She added that notifications were being made to specific parties.
According to Coleman, they are not sure of the original origin of the positive cases. She said most areas are seeing a rise in coronavirus cases at this time and weekly testing allows for facilities to immediately become aware and act when and if an outbreak occurs, which is what is being done at their Princeton facility now.
She said they quarantined the positive COVID residents to a central location, creating a singular unit for the patients. Coleman added this will allow positive patients to remain in a streamlined setting, minimizing opportunities for further spread. She said they are continuing to monitor all residents and staff, and are following all recommendations from the CDC, CMS, and the health department. In addition, all areas are being disinfected and all staff is wearing protective equipment in the center.
