Caldwell Schools Resume Virtual Instruction This Week

Caldwell County students returned to virtual instruction Monday after being out of school over the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Interim Superintendent Heath Cartwright says they are on virtual learning instruction this week and then returning to the hybrid schedule beginning Monday of next week.

click to download audioStudents returned to virtual instruction in mid-November after Governor Andy Beshear announced that public and private schools in Kentucky cease in-person instruction to help stop the spread of COVID-19 after weeks of cases spiking in every county in the state.
Cartwright says he felt like they needed to make the decision early on to return to virtual instruction this week after the holiday break.

Meanwhile, school officials have also announced that a limited number of passes for basketball will be on sale at the high school this week from 8:00 until 3:00. Passes are $50 each and are gender-specific. Officials say you will need a girl’s pass for girl’s games and a boy’s pass for boy’s games. There will be no reserve seats available this year. Mask and temperature checks are required to enter, and masks must stay on at all times while in the venue, and all spectators are required to social distance once inside the gym.
