Caldwell Medical Center Taking Reservations for COVID-19 Vaccine

Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton will be offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to residents in Caldwell and Lyon counties when it is available and appropriate based on state guidelines.
Infection Preventionist Mandy Smiley says the hospital has been working on Phase 1A vaccinations.


click to download audioShe says they had a good response from the front-line staff and health care workers at the hospital who wanted to take the vaccine, which she noted is not mandatory at this point.


click to download audioShe adds they have a task force at the hospital that is working on the roll-out phases of the COVID-19 vaccine to the public as allowed by the state. Smiley says they believe the 70 and over age group will be the next phase (1B) to receive the vaccine.
If you are interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, Smiley says the hospital is taking reservations.


click to download audioWhen they are ready to begin that particular phase, she notes the hospital will call those who have made reservations and get them registered to come to the facility to be vaccinated.
Smiley also stresses the importance that everyone gets the vaccine, which is a two-step vaccine.
