State Points to Holiday Gatherings for Latest COVID Case Surge

Kentucky reported the third-highest daily total of new COVID-19 cases Friday with 4,750 new cases and 13 new deaths announced.
Governor Andy Beshear held Friday’s briefing three hours earlier than normal and said there may be more new deaths today to report.
The state’s positivity rate remains at 11.9%.
Beshear said holiday gatherings are the likely reason for over 15,000 new cases reported in the past three days.
