Pennyrile District Health Department Waiting For Vaccine Allotment

The Pennyrile District Health Department will have to wait for the next allotment of COVID-19 vaccine before they can hold any more clinics.

Jim Tolley with the Pennyrile District Health Department says the district’s allotment of the vaccine was depleted last week with clinics in Trigg, Caldwell, Lyon, Crittenden, and Livingston Counties. Tolley says vaccine clinics in all five counties allowed more than 950 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to be given to those 70 or older.
Tolley says they are awaiting another shipment of vaccines before more vaccinations can be given. He says the timetable for the next shipment is not known at this time. Tolley told the News Edge the vaccine shipments are being coordinated by the federal government. He adds when the district receives another shipment of vaccines they will let the communities know and schedule another round of vaccinations.
