Payments On The Way From The State To Some Residents

Governor Andy Beshear said Tuesday the state has begun distributing funds to residents who have been waiting too long for unemployment payments or did not qualify for extra funding from the federal government.
Governor Beshear said $48 million in CARES Act funding would be handed out among two groups.

Beshear added that the second group did not qualify for the $400 supplemental payment handed out over the summer.

16,500 people will receive the $1,000 payment from the state, with around 25,000 people to receive the $400 payment.
Governor Beshear is expected to give a complete update on the state’s unemployment system Thursday afternoon.
